Why I Love This Recipe

I love these mints so much! My mother made these for every special occasion when I was growing up. The mixture will adhere to any mold you choose. I used a rose mold for my wedding, and dyed the mints lavender. If you can't find color paste at your local grocery store try a hobby supply store.

This recipe should make about 24 mints. The mold you use will determine how far the batch will stretch.

Ingredients You'll Need

3 oz. cream cheese (softened to room temp.
3 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp. of flavoring of your choice (i.e. butter, peppermint, rum)
Small dab of color paste

Directions

If you want to use several different colors divide the batch after mixing. In a large mixing bowl add powdered sugar to 3 oz. cream cheese one cup at a time. Mix well after adding each cup. Once all three cups are added include the flavoring. The mixture should be satiny, not sticky. Once mixture is to the right consistency add color paste. Then shape with any mold you choose. Refrigerate the finished product.

I have been making these for years. They are wonderful. I have never used rum flavoring, sounds different.
