CREAM OF WHEAT BREAD

Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked cream of wheat
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • Mix well and add:
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cooking oil

Directions

  • Stir gently and do not overbeat. Grease pan and bake 400
  • degrees until top is golden brown. this is crisp and crunchy.
  • (better than corn bread)
  • Note: I've made in muffin tin. It's a great breakfast bread. It kind of tastes like a sugar cookie. Good fresh out of the oven, and yes, kinda like cornbread as far as texture.
