This chicken pasta salad will be a hit at a backyard picnic.


  • Dressing:
  • 1 cup lemon low-fat yogurt
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • Pasta Salad:
  • 2 to 2½ cups (4 ounces) uncooked bow-tie pasta
  • 1 can (10 ounces) premium chunk breast of chicken, drained and flaked
  • 1 can (8 ounces) mandarin oranges, drained
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onion
  • 1/2 cup sliced celery


  • For the Dressing: Combine the yogurt, mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and poppy seeds in a small mixing bowl; mix well.
  • For the Pasta Salad: Cook the pasta according to the package directions; drain and rinse under cold water. Combine the pasta, chicken, mandarin oranges, green onion, and celery in a large bowl. Add the dressing; toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate until time to serve.
