Crisp Toffee Bars

Ingredients

1 cup BUTTER (not margarine)
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups sifted flour
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 cup nuts, chopped
1/3 cup nuts FINELY CHOPPED


Cream butter, sugar and vanilla together for (ten) 10 full minutes.


Add flour and mix well.


STIR in chocolate and the 1 cup of nuts.


Press mixture into an UNGREASED 15 x 10 x 1 pan.


SPRINKLE the 1/3 cup of finely chopped nuts on the TOP surface of the batter.


Preheat oven to 325 degrees.


Bake 25 minutes or until browned.


While still warm, cut into bars or squares.
