Why I Love This Recipe

Found this in the food section of the local paper a zillion years ago. Super easy and tastes great. The sauce starts with cola!

I have also taken my favorite bottled sauce and added that at the end of cooking instead of making it out of the reserved cooking liquid.


Ingredients You'll Need

3/4 cup cola (NOT DIET)
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. instant beef bouillon granules
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 1/2-2 pound boneless beef chuck roast
2 medium onions, chopped
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tbsp. butter


Directions

For cooking liquid, in a bowl combine cola, Worcestershire, vinegar, garlic, bouillon, mustard, chili powder and cayenne.


Reserve one-half cup liquid for sauce.


Trim excess fat from meat.


Cut meat as needed to fit in cooker.


Place onions and meat in cooker.


Pour remaining cooking liquid over meat.


Cover and cook 10-12 hours on low or 5-6 hours on high.


For sauce, in a saucepan combine reserved liquid, ketchup and butter.


Heat through and set aside.


When meat is done transfer to cutting board and shred.


Discard crock pot liquid


Add meat to sauce and serve.
