Ingredients

1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup liquid honey
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
pinch of salt
1 1/2 cups chopped dates
1 cup chopped pecans
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 oz. semisweet chocolate, chopped


In a saucepan bring milk, sugar, honey, cinnamon and salt to a boil.


Reduce heat and simmer for 15 to 18 minutes or until thickened and reduced by one third. Remove from heat.


Stir in dates, pecans, butter and vanilla.


Spoon into a foil lined 8” square cake pan pressing evenly.


In a bowl over saucepan of hot (not boiling) water melt chocolate stirring occasionally; drizzle over date mixture.


Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until chilled. Remove from pan.


Cut into squares.
