Why I Love This Recipe


Ingredients You'll Need

1/2- cup butter or margarine, softened
1- cup sugar
2- eggs
1/4- cup buttermilk
1- tsp. vanilla extract
2- cup all-purpose flour
1- tsp. baking soda
1/2- tsp. salt
2- cup diced peeled tart apples
1/2- cups chopped walnuts

TOPPING:

1/4- cups sugar
1/4- cups all-purpose flour
2- tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4- cups cold butter or margarine


Directions

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in buttermilk and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture. Fold in apples and walnuts. Pour into a greased 9x5x3" loaf pan. For topping, combine the sugar, flour and cinnamon in a bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over batter.


Bake at 350 deg for 55-60 mins or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack. Freezes well
