- 1oz salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 cups chicken bullion
- 1/2 cup mustard
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup liquid smoke
- 1/2 cup worchestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon red pepper
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- Simmer for two hours.
- Serve over any meat you can think of.
NotesMy Dad was a chef at Marie Callendar's and in talks with Don Callendar himself to open a franchise before he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He survived 9 years, though, which is 8 and a half years longer than the doctors gave him to live. When he died, I still had his recipes, and I started indexing them online (on another site) to make them searchable by ingredient. The BBQ sauce here is one of my favorites. I've not tried making it yet, to be honest, but I remember tasting it, and it's delicious.
