DANIELLE'S HUNGARIAN RED CABBAGE

Ingredients

  • 1 medium red cabbage, thinly shredded
  • 3/4 c sugar
  • 3/4 c canola oil
  • 1 c cider vinegar
  • 1 t caraway seeds
  • 2 t salt
  • 1 t pepper

Directions

  • Place all ingredients in stockpot, mixing thoroughly
  • Place on medium heat until mixture comes to a simmer
  • Lower heat and partially cover pot with lid
  • Cook until cabbage is tender crisp, about 35 to 40 minutes, stirring occasionally

Notes

This is an old family recipe from my soon to be sister in law - so I have made very few changes, just to suit my taste
