- 2- (64oz. ) cans of low salt V-8 juice; 4c. water; 6 beef bouillion cubes or use 2 lg or 5 small low salt beef broth; one small or lg bag of frozen vegetables; 3 cubed potatoes , can leave peel on; small cabbage chopped into smaller peices; fresh or frozen broccoli and califlower;1 small onion chopped; 1t. basil; 1t. garlic salt; 1t. parsley; salt and pepper to taste; 1# ground chuck. I use ground chuck because it gives it more flavor then ground round or ground sirlon; 5c. water.
- Brown meat using 2c. water. Once meat is cooked pour off grease and rinse the meat in a calendar. Using a large stew pot add the cooked meat. Add the onions and spices and brown onions till clear. Add V-8 and scrap the bottom of pan to mix in the tidbits off the bottom. Now add all the rest of the ingredients. Cook med. low heat for 1 and 1/2 hrs. Add water if it starts to get low.
