Why I Love This Recipe

I used to make these for my kids when they were small. I think I will throw together a batch to bring back some memories the next time we are all together

Ingredients You'll Need

1½ cups flour
½ cup sugar
½ t baking soda
¼ t salt
½ cup shortening
½ cup creamy peanut butter
¼ cup light corn syrup
1 T milk
additional peanut butter

Directions

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda and salt.

Cut in shortening and peanut butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs, Stir in the corn syrup and milk; mix well.

Shape into 2 inch roll; wrap in waxed paper. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours.

Cut into ¼ inch slices; place half of them 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.

Top each with ½ teaspoon peanut butter, top with remaining slices; seal edges with a fork.

Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 2 minutes; remove to racks to cool.
