DRUNKIN PIRATE CHOCOLATE RUM PIE

Ingredients

  • 1 Pastry For 9 In Pie Crust
  • 1 oz Unsweetened Chocolate Chips
  • 1 tbsp. Butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Corn Syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
  • 1/2 Cup Of Pecan..Or Walnut Halves
  • 3 Egg Yolks
  • 2/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Cold Water
  • 1 tbsp. Unflavored Gelatin
  • 1/2 Cup DARK RUM
  • 1 1/2 Cups Whipping Cream

  • Heres What Ya Do......
  • First. Heat Oven To 375 Deg.
  • Next. Line A 9 In. Pie Pan With Pie Crust Pastry...(Set Aside)
  • Put Chocolate And Butter In Small Saucepan And Set Over Lowest Heat Till melted.
  • Beat Eggs, 1/3 Cup Sugar, Corn Syrup,Chocolate Mixture and vanilla. Mix It Up Good.
  • Stir In Pecans..(Or Walnuts)...And Pour Into Pastry Lined Pie Shell.
  • Bake For 15 to 20 Mins. Till Pastry Is Nicely Browned. Let COOL.
  • and Drink A Glass Of Rum For Yourself.
  • NEXT... Beat Egg Yolks Till Foamy....and Beat In 2/3 Cups Sugar.
  • Combine Water And Gelatin in A Small Saucepan. (LET STAND 5 MINS.).
  • Now Heat Till It JUST Starts To Boil....Now Beat In the Egg Yolk Mixture. And Beat In The RUM!!!
  • Now Set That Bowl In Ice Water And Chill Till Mixture Begins To Hold Shape When Dropped From A Spoon.
  • Whip Cream Till Stiff And Fold In Gelitin Mixture. Set Back In Ice Water and Chill Till Mixture Begins To Hold Peaks. (will Be Firm)
  • Now Just Spoon Mixture Over Chocolate Mixture In Pie Shell.
  • Garnish With Shaved Chocolate.
  • CHILL IN FRIDGE FOR 1 HOUR...AND PREPARE TO WALK THE PLANK!!!!!
