Why I Love This Recipe

I personally got this recipe for a tasty tater tot casserole recipe from reality star mom Michelle Duggar. She makes this for her family all the time. This is the best recipe ever and I make it all the time for my family. It doesn't cost a lot to make and sometimes there are leftovers.

Ingredients You'll Need

30 servings tater tots, (1/2 2 lb bags)
16 ounces ground beef
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can evaporated milk

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Break up the ground beef with a metal spatula and then brown inside a 10-inch skillet.

Season with salt and pepper and cook all the way through.

Drain the meat with a strainer if need be.

Place meat at bottom of a 9x12-inch glass baking dish. Combine both soups with the milk in a separate bowl and mix thoroughly.

Cover the meat with the Tater Tots; pour soup mixture over top and bake for 60 minutes.

Questions, Comments & Reviews

Our family has always used a similar reciepe but we always use equal amounts of ground meat and green beans. My mom always used evaporated milk but I just add a cup or 2 of skim.

Hi, Lori D is correct, Eagle Brand is a Sweetend Condensed Milk, however Carnation makes a good evaporated milk. I think I'll try this tonite, but half it for my small family!

WOW.. this was a surprise - I loved it! Thanks for posting.

I think you made a mistake on the recipe. It should be evaporated milk but not the eagle brand type as this is extremely sweet and is used in making fudges, and baked goods. It should be a plain evaporated milk, like a fat free or 1%.

i have my first casserole in the oven now....as for mr roberts children are not just "popped out"... it is a painful process that we go through to bring a new life into the world...the duggars do not live off of this recipe, they eat more fresh fruits and vegetables than most families. you should not put them down because you dont agree with their lifestyle, they are entitled to their lifestyle the same as you and me. we should all be as god fearing and moral as they are. anyway, so excited about my first tater tot casserole, got to feed the family of 8

many thanks for the dish and for the familys wonderfull show and Amazing job they do with there children my family loves tatortotcasserole and you can make it on the healthy side as well just switch to lean ground turkey drain and use lowfat soups in place of the cream ones.my family has *duggar day * once a week just to try diffrent dishes hope to see other ones posted from such a wonderfull family anyone who says otherwise about them must lack a decent family of there own.keep up the great work with the dishes.

This is a recipe for a heart attack. Did you even bother to look at the nutritional information on this?!?! Michelle Duggar should be more concerned with healthy eating than popping out another kid!

My entire family loved this. I used the Kroger "store brand" ingredients and it was still delicious! Very Cost Effective!
