Dulce de Leche Bars
1 1/2 cups AP flour
1 1/2 cups quick-cooking or old fashion oats
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter or margarine. softened
1 can (13.4oz) dulce de leche
1 cup toffee bits
Heat oven to 350.
In a large bowl mix flour, oats, brown sugar and salt.
With pastry blender or form, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
Press 3/4 mixture into ungreased 13x9 pan.
Bake 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, in 1 quart saucepan heat dulce de leche over low heat 2 - 4 minutes.
Stirring frequently, until slightly softened.
Spread dulce de leche over partially baked crust. Sprinkle evenly with toffee bits and ramaining crumb mixture.
Bake 20 - 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool 15 minutes.
Run knife around sides of pan to loosen bars.
Cool completely (about 30 minutes).
For bars, cut in 8 rows by 4 rows.
