DUTCH APPLE PIE BY SANDRA HENLEY

Ingredients

  • Crust:
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter melted
  • 1 1/2 c flour
  • .
  • Filling:
  • 6 large Granny Smith apples
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 t cinnamon
  • Crumb Topping:
  • 3/4 c flour
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 3 T sugar
  • cinnamon to taste
  • dash of vanilla

Directions

  • For crust:
  • mix ingredients and pat into pie pan.
  • For filling:
  • Peel and slice apples, put in a large pot with butter, sugar, and cinnamon.
  • Steam until apples are soft.
  • Pour filling into crust.
  • For topping:
  • Mix ingredients together and crumble over filling.
  • Bake in preheated 400 degree oven. After 10 minutes reduce heat to 375 degrees, bake for 45 minutes more. Cool on a wire rack.
