Easy Fantasy Fudge

Serves 12 | Prep Time 10 | Cook Time 6

Ingredients

¾ cup (1 ½ sticks) butter
3 cups sugar
1 5oz can evaporated milk
12 oz or 2 heaping cups chocolate chips, semi-sweet
1 7oz jar marshmallow cream
1 cup chopped nuts ( optional )
1 tsp vanilla extract


Lightly grease 13x9" or 9" square pan Mix butter sugar, and milk in heavy 2-½ to 3-quart saucepan; bring to full rolling boil on medium heat, stirring constantly.



Continue boiling 5 minutes (5 ½ minutes for high altitude) on medium heat or until candy thermometer reaches 234 degrees, stirring constantly to prevent scorching.



Remove from heat. Gradually stir in chips until melted. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Pour into prepared pan. Cool at room temperature; cut into squares.



Microwave


Same Ingredients as above


Lightly grease 13x9" or 9" square pan. Microwave butter in 4-quart microwavable bowl or casserole on HIGH 1 minute or until melted. Add sugar and milk; mix well. Microwave on HIGH 5 minutes or until mixture begins to boil, stirring after 3 minutes. Mix well; scrape bowl. Microwave on HIGH 5-½ minutes, stirring after 3 minutes. Gradually stir in chips until melted. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Pour into prepared pan. Cool at room temperature; cut into squares.
