Easy Spaghetti Sauce

Serves | Prep Time | Cook Time


3 large Italian sausages, skins removed and crumbled, or 1/2 pound bulk sausage (I like sweet Italian, but you can try hot)
1 onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
extra virgin olive oil, to drizzle

1 28-oz can crushed tomatoes
1-2 TBSP sugar
1 TSP oregano
1-2 TSP Italian seasoning
1/4 TSP red pepper flakes
salt and pepper, to taste

Drizzle olive oil in pan, and cook sausage and onions together on medium-high until sausage is browned. Reduce heat to medium, add green peppers,and cook until softened.

Drain sausage and vegetables, if desired, and return to pan.

Add tomatoes, sugar, and herbs, cook stirring for another 5-7 minutes or heated through.

This is a pantry recipe--you can use whatever herbs you have on hand--fresh or dry-- depending on your taste buds!

I threw this recipe together to impress my mother in law, who loves to cook, and it worked!
