Everlasting Slaw

This recipe was given to me by my Father, I don't know where he got it.

It's very good if you like your slaw a little tangy.

 


CATEGORIES

INGREDIENTS

  • 3lbs. cabbage
  • 1 pod of sweet pepper
  • 1 med. size onion
  • 3 tablespoons salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup vinegar

DIRECTIONS

Chop; Cabbage, pepper, onion.


Mix with 3 tablespoons salt.


Let stand 15 minutes.


Squeeze out water.


Mix with sugar and vinegar.


Put in a covered dish- Let stand 24 hours.

Oh this sounds good. I love slaw like this but no one else in family does. Oh well more for me to eat. LOL I think I will try it next week. Cabbage is getting lower in price now, Sandy
