I HAVE ALWAYS HAD A YEAR ROUND GARDEN. HEY, I LIVE IN SO CALIFORNIA. YES, AND ALWAYS HAVE TO MANY TOMATOS. STARTED MAKING THIS WHEN MY CHILDREN WERE SMALL. IF I ADDED "STUFF" TO IT, I COULD CALL IT "STOUP" AND HAVE IT FOR DINNER.
THE ADDITION OF THE WINE, AND SHELL FISH CAME MUCH LATER.

4 CUPS FRESH TOMATOS, PEALED AND CHOPPED
4 CUPS TOMATO JUICE
10-12 LEAVES OF FRESH BASIL, CHOPPED
1 CUBE BUTTER
1 CUP HEAVY CREAM
1/2 CUP GOOD RED WINE
SALT
FRESH GROUND PEPPER

4 CUPS FRESH TOMATOS, PEALED AND CHOPPED

SIMMER FOR 30 MINUTES
ADD: 10-12 LEAVES OF FRESH BASIL, CHOPPED, LAST 10 MINUTES
