  • 10 cups thinly sliced apples
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour (for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 Cup butter, melted

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 deg. F. Place the sliced apples in a 9x13 inch pan. Combine the white sugar, 1 tablespoon flour and ground cinnamon together and sprinkle over the apples. Next, pour the water over the apples. Combine the oats, remaining flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and melted butter together. Crumble the mixture evenly over the layer of apples. Bake for about 45 minutes.



Tips:


Combining two or more varieties of apples gives a wonderful flavor to the dish.

don't quite understand this recipe.....1T. flour is listed, then later in the recipe, it says to use the REMAINING flour, but there is no other flour amount listed in the recipe!
