FALL FRUIT CRISP

Ingredients

  • FILLING -
  • 3 cups sliced apples
  • 4 cups sliced pears
  • 1 cup blueberries or strawberries, fresh or frozen
  • Juice from 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • TOPPING -
  • 1 cup rolled oats (not the quick cooking kind)
  • 1 cup chopped toasted walnuts or pecans
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar, light or dark
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. allspice
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Directions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 and grease 8 x 9 inch baking pan.
  • 2. For filling, combine all ingredients and pour into the prepared baking pan.
  • 3. For topping, combine all ingredients until topping is crumbly and chunky. If too dry add a little more melted butter.
  • 4. Evenly sprinkle the topping over the filling. Bake for 35-45 mins or until pears and apples are soft when pierced.
