FRENCH TOAST CASSEROLE

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf french bread, 1 inch slices
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • PRALINE TOPPING
  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons light Karo syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions

  • Lay the bread sliices in 9x13" pan that has been well buttered. Slices can overlap. Mix the remaining ingredients well and pour over bread being sure to cover bottom slices as well. I flipped and turned for a while so everything was soaked. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
  • In the morning make your praline top and crumble it over the bread. You will bake this at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes until lightly golden brown. Serve with extra hot syrup on the side.
