1 Whole Chicken -cut up
1 Cup Crisco ( do not use oil )
Coarse Ground Pepper
1 Large Bayleaf
Wash chicken and remove excess fat. pour a generous amount of flour on a plate and add a generous amount of black pepper to the flour.
Heat Crisco in a skillet and add a bay leaf to the grease. Roll and pat the moist chicken pieces in the flour and place in the skillet, starting with the larger pieces.
Fry on medium, turning frequently until golden brown. Drain and serve with meshed potatoes and gravy.
