Why I Love This Recipe
Pickerel is best when the catch is fresh. My auntie says that the pickerel is the “prize” fish because it is the best tasting!
Ingredients You'll Need
2 Pickerel, filleted
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup gluten free 1 to 1 Flour
1/2 cup Shortening
Heat the shortening in deep frying pan.
Dip pickerel fillets into flour on both sides.
Fry for about 8-10 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Serve with some fluffy mashed potatoes and cream style corn with a slice of bannock!
