FROSTED MOCHA MOCHA BROWNIES

Ingredients

  • Brownies:
  • 3/4 C unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 C plus 3 TBLS butter
  • 1 C white sugar
  • 1 C brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp instant espresso powder
  • 1 C flour
  • (you could add a cup of nuts if you like)
  • Frosting:
  • 1/2 C butter
  • 1/4 C unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp instant espresso powder
  • 3 1/2 C confectioners' sugar
  • 2 - 4 TBLS milk

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350F
  • Brownies:
  • Melt butter and pour into a mixing bowl.
  • Mix in cocoa powder and espresso powder.
  • Add sugars, vanilla and eggs, mix will.
  • Add flour and mix.
  • Pour into parchment paper lined 13x9 baking pan.
  • Bake 30 - 35 minutes.
  • Cool completely.
  • Frosting:
  • Melt butter and pour into a mixing bowl.
  • Add cocoa powder, espresso powder and vanilla; mix well (this will be VERY thick).
  • Mix in milk, a little at a time, until you get to the consistency you want.
  • Spread over brownies.
  • Cut into squares.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

I had a bunch of teenagers coming back to my house and needed some snacks. This is one of the things I came up with. They have a nice strong coffee flavor. YUM!
