4 c. sugar
1 large can evaporated milk
1 stick butter
12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
16 oz. mini marshmallows
1 tsp. vanilla extract
pinch of salt
1 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
Butter the sides of a heavy 3 quart sauce pan. Add the sugar, milk, pinch of salt and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it reaches the soft ball stage. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips, marshmallows, vanilla extract and nuts. Pour into a buttered pan; spread out and cool. I stir constantly because I like my fudge to be a bit grainy but if you like smooth and creamy fudge, stir as little as possible and NEVER put your fudge in the fridge!!!

Fudge is a holiday staple at my house. With this recipe, it's easy to change the flavor and make any kind of fudge you want simply by changing the flavor of the chips you use. Be careful when you make this fudge because you'll end up having to make batch after batch after batch to satisfy all those fudge lovers!
