INGREDIENTS
- Bread Dough
- 1 lb of bread flour
- 1 ½ eggs
- 4 tsp of yeast
- ¾ cup warm water
- 2 tbsp milk
- 3 tbsp oil
- 3 ½ oz sugar
- Filling:
- 3 oz butter
- 4 oz sugar
- 1 ½ oz of coconut
- 1 oz flour
- 2 oz cornstarch
- 2 tbsp milk
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- Topping:
- 1 oz plain flour
- 1 ½ oz soft butter
- 1/2 oz of sugar
DIRECTIONS
PREPARATION
Make dough and place in glass bowl and cover with cheesecloth. Allow dough to rise until it is in double inside (usually 4 hours) Knead out dough (do not roll!) and divide into 24 equal parts.
Make filling, keep them cool.
Assemble bun with filling making sure you seal the opening well
Pipe 3 thin lines of topping on each end of the dough
Bake at 350 F for about 25 minutes. If it is starting to get too brown turn down temperature
Glaze with sugar syrup well done.
