Gateau au chocolat moelleux (French)

Serves 6 to 8 persons | Prep Time 20 minutes | Cook Time 10 to 12 minutes

Ingredients

220g dark chocolate slab (I normally use Nestle Gold original, 70% cocoa)
125g unsalted butter (remove from fridge in advance to soften it)
125g sugar
90g baking flour
5 whole eggs


Preheat oven to 210°C.



Break chocolate slab into smaller pieces and melt (in the microwave slowly for a few seconds).



Add the softened butter to the melted chocolate and mix thoroughly.



Add the sugar, baking flour and the eggs and mix again until you achieve a smooth texture (the eggs do not require to be beaten separately).



Pour the mixture into a round cake tin and place in the oven.



Bake for 10 to 12 minutes to achieve a soft and smooth center.

This recipe is of a soft centered Chocolate cake (moelleux meaning soft and smooth in French) that comes from France.

The first time I tried it, it was homemade in the countryside of France by my husband's family and it was simply delicious! I would like to share it as it is easy to make and it is a very nice cake to bake for the family.
