INGREDIENTS
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. ground ginger
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- additional sugar
DIRECTIONS
Beat shortening at medium speed; gradually add sugar and beat well. Mix in egg and molasses. Combine flour, soda, salt & spices. Add flour mixture 1/4 at a time to creamed mixture, mixing after each addition. Shape in to 3/4" balls and roll in additional sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. Cool on rack.
