GLAZE FOR CHRISTMAS HAM
Glaze for Christmas Ham
- 1 can Dr Pepper
- 1 (20 oz) can crushed Pineapple in HEAVY syrup, drained fairly well
- 2 good sized cloves are garlic, crushed and remove papery skin
- 1 c packed brown sugar
Set your ham to bake in the oven. Pour all ingredients into a heavy 1 qt saucepan. Stir and bring to a light boil over medium heat. Once it begins to come just to a boil reduce heat low and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. The juices will reduce quite a bit and the pineapple will turn a nice amber color. Strain if you desire, I didn't though. Glaze your ham according to the directions that came on the ham package. Mine said to bake mine at 250 for 10 minutes per pound (so 90 minutes for mine) and then turn the oven up to 425, glaze ham and bake an additional 10-15 minutes.
