1 pound small boiling onions, peeled, with tips removed

1 In skillet, melt butter and add onions in single layer.
2 Season onions with salt and sprinkle with brown sugar.
3 Add ½ cup stock, cover, and simmer gently.
4 From time to time, add more stock if needed so the onions do not stick to pan.
5 Stir after 10 minutes; continue simmering until done and slightly brown (about 10 to 15 minutes).
