- 1 part grains of paradise
- 1 part kosher salt
- 1 part garlic powder
- I crush grains of paradise in mortar and pestle, but you can also use a coffee grinder.
- Add salt and crush for a small while just to help mix in grains more
- Add garlic powder
- Store in glass container in cool dark place.
NotesI had never heard of Grains of paradise until the a certain "food guru" talked about it on his G**d Eats show. I have found that although they are pricey, they have a certain floral quality that is unlike regular pepper. I make this mix up in small batches to keep it fresh, but also so that I always have some ready to go on hand.
