GRANDE MERE TART

Ingredients

  • Dough:
  • 200 g flour
  • 100 g butter
  • 4 g Salt
  • 20 g sugar
  • 1 Tbl. water
  • 1 egg
  • Filling:
  • 2 apples, peeled, cored and cubed
  • 2 canned pears, cubed
  • 50 g. walnuts, chopped
  • 50 g pistachios, whole
  • 60 g butter
  • 60 g sugar
  • 100 g cream
  • sliced almonds for garnish

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350
  • Directions for crust:
  • Cream flour and butter.
  • add sugar and salt
  • add egg and water
  • Partially blind bake.
  • Filling:
  • Caramelize butter and sugar, and add apples and cook out till easily pierced by fork, but not soft. Add pears.
  • Add cream, reduce a bit
  • Add nuts to warm through.
  • Pour into prepared tart shell and bake at 350 for 35 minutes or until bubbling.
  • Let cool, garnish with sliced almonds
