Grandma's Dressing for Apple Salad
1 cup water
1 egg beaten
1 cup sugar
2 T. Flour
3 T. vinegar
1 T. butter*
Mix and boil until it thickens, stirring constantly. Cool and mix it into diced apples, celery, grapes, pineapple tidbits, marshmallow bits and pecan halves (can use walnuts).
*original recipe said butter size of hickory nut. Took me while to figure out that size.
This recipe came from a fellow worker of my Husband and this is what she called it.
I got it about 30 years ago when she brought some to a company picnic. Enjoy
