Grandma's Pecan Balls
1 cup butter, softened
5 tbsp sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
2 cups pecans, broken
Garnish: powdered sugar
In a medium bowl, blend together the butter and the sugar.
Stir in the vanilla and the flour.
Fold in the pecans.
Roll the dough into walnut-size balls
Arrange on an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake at 300 F for 45 minutes.
While still warm, sprinkle the cookies with powdered sugar.
Sprinkle again before servings.
