Why I Love This Recipe

This recipe was handed down from my Grandmother, who would be 114 years old if she were still alive. It'm my very favorite cookie.

Ingredients You'll Need

2 C. brown sugar
1 C. Crisco (Grandma used lard!)
3 eggs
4 T. boiling water (from raisins)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 C. raisins, cooked
1/2 C. walnuts, coarsely ground
3-1/2 C. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
Dash of salt.

Directions

Boil raisins in water for approximately 10 minutes. Drain, but save water.

Mix all ingredients.

Drop by teaspoonful onto cookie sheet sprayed with Pam.

Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 10 minutes. Store covered.

Freezes well.
