Serves 12 | Prep Time | Cook Time 15

2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 cup butter
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 Tbs melted butter

Place dry ingredients into a bowl.

Cut in butter until it becomes crumbly.

Add buttermilk and stir just until moistened.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface.

Knead dough about 4 times (don't over handle or biscuits will be tough).

Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness.

Cut out biscuits with biscuit cutter and place on lightly greased baking sheet.

Brush tops with melted butter.

Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown in a preheated 450 degree oven. Makes 12 biscuits.

Hint: For crispy biscuits make sure the biscuits don't touch in the pan, and for softer biscuits let the sides touch each other.
