1 1/2 cups sugar
1 13 ounce can undrained crushed pinapple
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup nuts, chopped
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix first seven ingredients: sugar, pineapple, eggs, flour, salt, soda, baking powder and pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13" baking pan. Sprinkle top with 1 cup of brown sugar and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. While the cake is baking; melt 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup evaporated milk, 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. As soon as you take cake from the oven poke holes in the top with a toothpick and pour mixture over the cake. Very good--can be frozen.
