"These are easy to make granola bars that are great for snacks or breakfast."

Serves Makes one 13x9 pan, 10-20 bars depending on size. | Prep Time 15 minutes | Cook Time 30 minutes

Why I Love This Recipe

When pressing the mix into the pan, use a plastic bag over your hand, if it’s not pressed firmly the granola bars will be crumbly and will lose their shape. Pour batter into pan without pressing for loose granola.

You can also add other ingredients such as nuts and dried fruits, I usually add chopped walnuts and raisins.

For greasing the pan, I use a spray coconut oil to save time.

If you don't consider honey vegan, use 1/3 cup agave nectar instead.

Ingredients You'll Need

3 cups oats
2 cups rice krispie cereal
1/2 cup wheat germ
1 cup wheat flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup applesauce
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla
1 Tbsp flax meal
3 Tbsp warm water
1/2 bag vegan chocolate chips

Directions

Mix together dry ingredients: oats, cereal, wheat germ, flour, and sugar.

Make a ‘flax egg’ combine the flax meal and water.

Mix wet ingredients: applesauce, honey, oil, vanilla, and flax egg.

Combine wet and dry ingredients.

Press into 13x9 glass baking pan greased with coconut oil.

Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
