- 2 lb. Fresh Green Beans (We use the Large Can of Green Beans too)
- 4 Slices Crisp Bacon, Broken
- 3 tbsp. Butter
- 1/3 c. Minced Onion
- 1/2 c. Sliced Almonds
- 1 Clove Garlic - Minced
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 1/4 tsp. Pepper
- In a large pan, cook beans, seasonings and ham-hock in a little water; bring to a boil, then reduce heat; cover and simmer until beans are fork tender; drain off most of liquid; chop meat in small pieces; saute' onions in butter until transparent; add to beans; add almonds; toss lightly and serve.
- NOTE: I add the Bacon grease from Cooked Bacon. I also dont always add Almonds. Sometimes we like it without.
NotesGREEN BEANS ALMONDINE - this is go greasy but good!
Backstory: I altered this Recipe from one I found on a Recipe Site to fit our tastes. We only make this every once in awhile because its so fattening! Buts it sooo Good!
