Great winter meal. This is another of our favorite soups... This one from a friend & neighbor when we lived in Jacksonville, IL. I was between our houses doing some yard work, she had her range top vent on because she was simmering this wonderful soup. I could smell this the whole time I was doing my yard work... Of couse I had to have this recipe...


  • 1 lb. ground Beef (brown and drain fat)
  • 1/4 t. Pepper
  • 1/4 t. Oregano
  • 1/4 t. Basil
  • 1/4 t. Seasoned Salt
  • 1 envelope Onion Soup Mix
  • 3 c. boiling Water
  • 1 - 8 oz. can Tomatoe Sauce
  • 1/2 c. Salsa
  • 1 T. Soy Sauce
  • 1 c. sliced Celery
  • 1 c. sliced Carrots
  • 1 clove minced Garlic
  • 1 c. Macaroni or noodle of your choice; cook according to package directions; drain.
  • Parmesan Cheese to taste


  • Directions:
  • Add soup mix to boiling water. Then add all other ingrediants, except macaroni. Bring to boil then simmer for 2-3 hours. Add cooked macaroni 15 min. before serving. Garnish with Parmesan cheese.
