Hard Tack candy
2 3/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups light Karo
1 cup water
1 tsp Lorann flavoring (many to choose from)
Mix first 3 ingredients in a large saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Boil, without stirring until temperature reaches 310°. Remove from heat. After boiling has stopped, stir in flavoring and coloring. Pour onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Cut or break into pieces once hardened. Dust with powdered sugar.
