HASTY OATMEAL CAKE
Hasty oatmeal cake
A cake that my mom made while I was growing up
CATEGORIES
INGREDIENTS
- 1 C boiling water
- 1 stick margarine
- 1 c quick oatmeal
- 2 eggs slitly beaten
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 c brown sugar
- 1 1/3 c flor
- 1 tsp baking soda
- *Frosting*
- 1 stick margarine
- 1 can coconut
- 1/4 c evaporated milk
- 1/2 c sugar
- 1 c chopped nuts
DIRECTIONS
Pour water over oats and margarine, let stand 20 mins
Add remaining ingrediants to oatmeal mixture
mix by hand, pour into a greased and floured shet pan.
Bake at 350 for 35 mins
Frosting
combine all ingredients, melt over low heat
spread over hot cake
Place under broiler until light brown
