HAWAIIAN SWEET BREAD PUDDING

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Hawaiian sweet bread
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 1/2 c milk
  • 1 c sugar
  • 6 eggs, beaten
  • 3 t cinnamon
  • 1t vanilla

Directions

  • Heat butter, milk, and sugar over low heat until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved, let cool
  • Tear bread into bit size pieces and put in 9x12 baking dish
  • Spread cherry pie filling over bread
  • Add eggs, cinnamon, and vanilla to the milk mixture and pour over bread and pie filling
  • Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes or until golden on top and egg is set

Notes

My cousin melanie came up with this one first, and I don't know why I never thought of it before - I guess it's because we never had any stale hawaiian sweetbread around!
