Hawaiian Sweet Bread Pudding

My cousin melanie came up with this one first, and I don't know why I never thought of it before - I guess it's because we never had any stale hawaiian sweetbread around!

 


INGREDIENTS

  • Cooking Time: 45
  • Servings: 12-15
  • Preparation Time: 20
  • 1 loaf Hawaiian sweet bread
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 1/2 c milk
  • 1 c sugar
  • 6 eggs, beaten
  • 3 t cinnamon
  • 1t vanilla

DIRECTIONS

Heat butter, milk, and sugar over low heat until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved, let cool


Tear bread into bit size pieces and put in 9x12 baking dish


Spread cherry pie filling over bread


Add eggs, cinnamon, and vanilla to the milk mixture and pour over bread and pie filling


Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes or until golden on top and egg is set
