- 5 lbs. Whole Wheat Flour
- 1/2 gallon Buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon Salt
- 1 1/2 stick Oleo (melted)
- 1 pt Sugar
- 1 pt Sorghum
- 3 teaspoon Baking Soda
- Dissolve Baking Soda in the Buttermilk.
- Mix all ingredients well
- Bake at 325 for 45 minutes
- Grind and put back into the oven at 125 degrees
- Bake for several hours.
NotesMom had this recipe and had written that a Mrs. Yoder gave her the recipe. Mrs. Yoder was a sweek Amish lady at Rockhome Gardens in Arcola, Illinois. The recipe was given to Mom in July of 1989.
