RECIPE BACKSTORY

My fondest memories on making Ice Cream with my parent in the summer. The ice cream maker was so loud and you had to buy all the ice and salt to go in the Ice cream maker to get it cold enough. We had to wait forever it seemed like but when we finally got to have some it was the best ice cream on the planet!!!

* Note : It hard to find the old fashioned ice cream makers nowadays so if your making this in one of the new ones you may need to make this in batches and freeze. it's good soft serve but it was also the best when it was frozen in the freezer for a day. great with strawberries or peaches cut up in the mixture. fruit can be added when you put mixture inthe ice cream maker. Enjoy!!!

Wow. This is the kind of ice cream maker I remember as a kid too, with all the rock salt and ice and grinding and noise. It's the only one I've ever known. Thanks for the memories! :)
