Hot Beef Au Jus

Serves | Prep Time | Cook Time

Ingredients

5lb. rump roast or sirloin tip roast
1/4 - 1/2 c. lemon juice
2 pkgs. Lipton Onion Soup mix
2-3 cloves garlic
1 tsp. Italian herbs mixture- oregano, thyme, parsley, basil, marjoram -
OR - just use the Italian Seasoning you find in the spice aisle!


Put all of above in crock pot.


Add water to cover meat.


Cook on low 6-8 hours until tender.


Let stand overnight in broth.


Refrigerate overnight.


Next day, slice thinly or shred with fork.


Put back in the broth and heat on top of stove to serve.


Serve beef broth in small condiment bowls or cups for dipping!!

I don't remember where I came up with this recipe!! But it sure is good!! I often make this to take along to family get togethers!! I honestly can say, there are seldom any leftovers!!

Kay says: You could slow roast this in the oven at 250º for about 5-6 hours if you'd rather. On days like tomorrow when I just want to have it ready for people to help themselves whenever, I put it back in the crockpot so it stays hot for several hours!!
