  • 8 oz. Fresh Mushrooms
  • 1/2 Stick of Butter
  • 10 Slices of Bacon
  • 1/2 Cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 Cups Grated Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 Egg-Beaten
  • 1/4 tsp. Dry Mustard
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • Tabasco to Taste
  • Pepper to Taste
  • 12 Slices of Pumpernickel Bread


  • Slice and saute mushrooms in butter. Cook bacon and crumble. Combine mushrooms and bacon, to this add mayonnaise, cheese, egg, mustard, worcestershire sauce, tabasco and pepper. Cut crust from bread and cut into quarters. Toast lightly on both sides and spread with mixture, cover and refrigerate. Remove from refrigerator for 30 minutes and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until puffy. Serve hot.
