HUNGARIAN CASSEROLE

Ingredients

  • 3-4 lb. of potatoes
  • 1 sour cream
  • 1 small packaged sauerkraut
  • Smoked kielbasa
  • Medium onion
  • Paprika, pepper
  • 1 egg

Directions

  • Boil potatoes with skin in water
  • Let cool, peel cooled potatoes
  • Cut onion and sauté in oil until opaque, add sliced smoked kielbasa, paprika and pepper
  • Mix together sour cream with 1 egg
  • Grease large casserole dish with butter
  • Slice potatoes on the bottom of the dish, next layer is the onion and kielbasa mixture, next layer is sauerkraut, next spread over the sour cream
  • Repeat layers, potatoes, onion/kielbasa, sauerkraut, sour cream Lastly top with layer of sliced potatoes and thin layer of sour cream and little pieces of butter
  • Bake in 375 for an hour, until potatoes are crispy on the top.

Notes

Everybody's favorite. Great for parties, or great as a comfort food.
