BackstoryTip: For a one dish meal instead of salt pork, i add chunks of ham and peeled potatoes cut into chunks. This is one of my own recipes. I make this vegetable side dish every thanksgiving. Everyone ask for them. Hope you try this and like it as much as we do.
- 1 huge can of italian cut green beans.
- 1 piece salt pork or a couple big ham hocks
- salt and pepper
- Pour can of green beans in a large pot,add the salt pork or ham hocks. Cover with water and add salt and pepper to taste. Bring to boil then turn down to a simmer,let cook a couple of hours.Will taste like homegrown green beans.
